Tasting note:

Elegant and classy on the nose, this Premier Cru features aromas of black fruit with fine, delicate floral notes. On the palate, the body has a great deal of sucrosity but with beautiful structure, and well-integrated oak that does not overpower the fruit. Pleasing sensation of freshness on the finish.

Winery:

Domaines Albert Bichot is a leading family-owned and -run negociant house and estate owner in Burgundy, formed in 1831 and now based in the town of Beaune. The company owns more than 100 hectares (247 acres) of sustainably farmed vineyards, divided among six estates. Domaine du Pavillon in Pommard includes the Corton Grand Cru Monopole Clos des Maréchaudes, while the flagship wine of Domaine du Clos-Frantin – based in Nuits-Saints-Georges – is a Vosne Romanée Premier Cru Aux Malconsorts. The Château-Gris, also in Nuits-Saint-Georges, possesses two monopoles (vineyards with a single owner). North of the Côte d'Or, in Chablis, Château Long-Depaquit controls the Grand Cru Monopole La Moutone. Domaine Adélie in Mercurey and Domaine de Rochegrès in the Moulin-à-Vent appellation of Beaujolais are the most recent acquisitions. Grapes are also sourced from a network of long-term partner growers, who farm to strict standards on grape health, yield and quality consistent with the practice in estate vineyards.

In 2019 Albert Bichot was honored to be given the Len Evans Trophy which recognizes excellence and consistency at the IWC over a five-year period.
